Trade_Show_Crate_MultipleDoors_Ramp_2W.jpg

This reusable trade show crate is a great example of having the right tools for a job. This interesting design enables our customer to manually drive their machine demo unit up the ramp and into the crate. The driver then exits through the big double doors on the side. An extra door on the end grants easy access for strapping their machine in place. Strong, easy and fast.

Re-usable industrial Utility Crates

Not just for the trade show circuit

A re-usable crate can also be a durable container used every day for shipping between facilities. A crate to shuttle parts to a machine shop vendor to re-work and send back, or ship something out to the coating shop to finish and return it, undamaged. Use them to catch small parts as they are output from a machine...

Endless possibilities.

ARTICLE:

big crate vs two smaller crates

BigcrateSmallCrates.jpg

Putting it all in one big crate vs. two smaller ones, is not always less expensive or more practical.

You may have some very large items and will need a big crate. However, IF it isn't necessary, we say; don't put it all in one.

Here are a few pointers to help you decide what is best for your situation.

1. Over sized dimensions = Higher Freight Charges.

Optimize dimensions when able Meaning re-configure your dimensions for better shipping rates.

For example:

A pallet space on a truck, etc. is 48" x 48" (The size of a large, standard-sized pallet).

So a crate that is 80"L x 52"W x 48"H takes up, technically, 4 pallet spaces on a truck, and may fetch a higher shipping rate than if you reduced the width to two pallet spaces.

Like this example:

Same volume, smaller foot-print: 80"L x 48"W x  52"H =

(The freight carrier can now put another paying customer's pallets next to yours, and you both save money!)

(This is something that we will usually recommend to you when we design the crate)

3. HUGE crates may look really tough, but they may receive more damage from abuse and mishandling.

A huge re-usable crate gets pretty heavy! Which isn't a problem if they're always handled properly...(yeah right).

THE FORKLIFT: Is the destroyer of huge, heavy, expensive, trade show crates.

Some forklift operators hastily push, turn and maneuver (shove/crash) crates wherever they want them, with their pointy little metal tines, in places that they shouldn't. Like the crate corners or sides. Again, usually not an issue for a well-built crate, like ours.

However, a Huge crate is HEAVY. So It doesn't want to move when pushed. So the forklifts wound and cut away, or even puncture the crate one hit at a time. After just a season, your huge, expensive crate that you just bought (even a well-built one, like ours) might look like it should be replaced sooner than you want..

 Our advice:

Whenever possible, divide into two smaller crates instead of one, huge, heavy, and way more expensive one.

They will last longer, save you money on shipping, and be a whole lot easier for the shipper and the forklift operators to deal with.

Or just have us regularly repair/rebuild them for you.

That works for us also  :)

Let’s get started.
